IT DOES WHAT IT IS SUPPOSED TO DO. (GERMINATE SEEDS)
IT’S A SIMPLE PRODUCT AND IT WORKS.
I USE AN OLD HEATING PAD SET ON LOW UNDER THE KIT TO GIVE BOTTOM HEAT WHICH AIDS IN THE GERMINATION. I’M TRYING TO GROW HYBRID BRUGMANSIA SEED WHICH TAKES FROM TWO WEEKS TO TWO MONTHS TO GERMINATE. I HAVEN’T HAD IT LONG ENOUGH TO SEE RESULTS. IT COMES WITH ADEQUATE PEAT PADS FOR SUBSEQUENT OTHER SEEDS LATER ON. A GOOD TOOL.

I tried these peat starters for some vegetable seeds. At first few seeds sprouted until I removed the “greenhouse” top and brought the tray outside. All then seemed well as most of the seeds germinated, but the nylon shell that encompasses the peat seems to impede root growth. Whenever I pull a non-performing plant, most of the root system seems concentrated within the peat cup itself. Next year I’m going to try using potting mix in a seed starter tray like this one:
PLANTATION PRODUCTS P960 SEED STARTER TRAY 96 CELLS
which is how young plants are sold in the garden section of Wal-Mart and various home-improvement stores.

My plants did well at first, then I planted them in the Garden and they stoped growing. I fertilized and watered, still more than have died and did nothing. I found out why my plants root did not go through the bag!

I used about half of the pellets the first time and got good results. The plants started growing. I planted four seeds of five types of tomatoes; white oxheart, black krim, Anna Russians, black russian cherry and rainbow tomatoes. At least two (all four came up (all for my krims) of all the varities came up. They were growing good and came up quickly and continued to grow quickly. Unfortunetly my cat mistook my tomato plants for catnip and commenced on tearing them out of their pellets. I had to regrow more using the other half of the unused pellets. I put water on them but they were stale and dry. This meant that I had to soak them much longer than I did the first time. So I would recommend that if anyone use this that they use all of them the first time or else the water that you pour over the pellets will creep under the pellet holder and ‘half-start’ the others that youre not using. They will dry up and be hard (though not impossible) to get wet and moist when you go back to resuse the others. I also checked and the product is made in Canada which means the peat probably comes from there rather than from the depleted peat zones in Britain.

I thought I was getting a great deal for saving over 90%. I recieved my greenhouses today and they were cracked and the soil pods all 72 were all in the huge box it was sent in. The greenhouses are far from pro, more like greenhouses for dummies! I felt like the dummy. They had $7.00 K-mart stickers on the package! I will be returning these back to your company.
